Reading & Literacy
We want to promote the love for reading and give our children space to discover the beauty of their fantasies and the power of their imagination. It also helps the children with spelling, grammar and basic literacy skills.
Computer Literacy
We aim to teach the children how to use the computers, to type and to work with various programs at an early age.
We also help to empower the community members of different ages in our courses, to give them the opportunity to learn basic computer skills (such as writing their own CV for job applications) which they couldn't achieve due to their disadvantaged background.
Current Projects
Nutrition
Since Mothers Unite originated as a soup kitchen, our Nutrition Project is the heart of our organization. Providing a daily meal for our children is highly needed and aids in the alleviation of the lack of nutrition in an impoverished community.
Sewing
The sewing project creates and makes goods to be sold, to generate funds for the sustainability of the organization.
Seniors With A Purpose
Our senior club SWAP is a program that offers our seniors companionship. They receive motivation and encouragement in their weekly meetings and plan various activities. There are times set aside for sharing their stories, having a nutritious meal together and building up friendships so that healing can take place.
