Who are we?
We are a registered non-profit organisation that focuses on the well-being of children. We operate in Seawinds, Lavender Hill, an area predominantly characterized by unemployment, poverty, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, substance addiction and gang related crime.
Mission
To uplift the children and families of the Seawinds/Lavender Hill area by focusing on inclusivity and participation through a variety of different projects.
Vision
To embrace children holistically by providing nutritional, educational and emotional support as well as positive alternatives to antisocial behaviour.
Impact
Utilizing Urban Acupuncture, we puncture the needles of needs through various interventions. Mothers Unite has helped transformed the Seawinds/Lavender Hill community through our projects which includes Feeding, Reading-Literacy, Early Childhood Development, Computer Literacy, Recycle for A Token and Sports.
In 2017, we have provided 10,736 meals and have instilled values of love, non-violence, and care to each student and family within our program.
Mothers Unite will continue implementing these ideals, with a goal to expand each of our programs, put a greater focus on literacy for our children.
